The MPAA lied about their piracy losses

While Congress was considering the sweeping anti-piracy laws we’ve all come to know and love during this past winter, the MPAA (one of SOPA’s biggest backers) fudged the numbers on how much money they were losing…by about $50 billion. In this video from TED talks, author Rob Reid explains why it’s nonsense and where the MPAA’s story might’ve come from.
