NYC “Mad Men” ads bring to mind 9/11

Don, Joanie, Roger, and the rest of Mad Men return on March 25 (YES! YES! YES!) but AMC’s advertisements are upsetting New Yorkers. The New York Times has reported that families of the 9/11 victims are upset because the depiction of Don Draper falling through his life is reminiscent of how people trapped on the upper floors of the World Trade Center leaped to their death. It’s sad stuff, but I can’t help but wonder how advertising guru Don Draper would feel about this whole thing. I mean from a sales standpoint, the ads are certainly effective.
