Every hockey fan knows about good rivalries between players. One of the most exciting things about the game is when two players have their eye on each other in a feud that lasts over time. Today’s game isn’t like it used to be, the only high profile rivalry that’s taken place over the past few years is members of the Canucks against members of the Blackhawks. Dave Bolland’s recent weak comments about the “Sedin sisters” prove even that rivalry isn’t what it used to be.
Dion Phaneuf and Scott Hartnell could be a good one, though. The two both play on good teams and will surely meet in the playoffs more than once in the next few years as the Leafs continue to develop.They’ve only fought once before this year, but this happened at the All-Star game on January 29th:
